Thai Movie 'ATM' opens on Philippine Cinema
Some of you might be wondering why all of a sudden I have a movie post here. Well, to be honest, I barely blog about movies since my day job is already about them. But of course, there are times that I can help but to share some of my senseless opinions about movies and TV shows, those are the times that I'm sure that you'll also love what I'll be talking about. In this case, I'm here to discuss the latest movie of my fave Thai actor, Chantavit Dhanasevi (a.k.a. Ter a.k.a. The Stranger), the ATM (Er Rak Error).
From the makers of one of the successful Asian blockbuster, Hello Stranger, comes another Thai movie that will make you fall out of your seats and fall in love too. With its lead star, Chantavit Dhanasevi, the guy who made us "kilig" and hold on to our breath at the ending of Hello Stranger, ATM is the latest Thai movie that is making its way to the Asian market.
And here in the Philippines, where it will be shown in cinemas this coming June 6th, Star Cinema brought its other casts and director for a premier night, which was attended by showbiz press and fellow Thai movie lovers.
Coming all the way from Thailand is ATM's director Mes Tharatorn, and lead actress Preechaya Pongthananikorn (or Ice for short) to promote their blockbuster hit that will showcased the craftsmanship of Thais when it comes to romantic-comedy genre movies.
We had a chance to see the movie right after the presscon, and to not spoil anyone, I'd just say that Ter made it again. Delivering a wholesome and funny character is indeed his forte. I really love this guy!
Here's the trailer of the movie:
The conflict of the story started from an ATM that malfunctioned during a soccer tournament. The whole town learned about it and managed to withdraw money doubling the amount on their account.
Aside from the funny antics of the two lead characters, you'll also enjoy the supporting roles that gave us a clear view of the life in Thailand - something that I find really fascinating.
This movie was released first in Thailand last January 19th, then it made a buzz in the Asian market for its pure laughable scenes. And Star Cinema brought it here for Filipino Thai movie lovers to enjoy starting tomorrow, June 6th!
I'd give this movie a two-thumbs up rating for it made me laugh a loooooooot of time!
Congratulations to the stars and crew of ATM! And thank you to Star Cinema for bringing one great movie to watch! :-)
